We treat Chiropractic conditions with three different methods of adjusting. We use the most common approach which is called the diversified adjustment, Thompson drops, and the activator.

The first type of adjusting we do here at Green Valley Chiropractic Center is the diversified adjustment (or sometimes referred to as the Palmer Package) involves the patient turning onto their sides to then put motion into their low back and sacroiliac joints (SI Joints). Also, included in the diversified adjustment is the treatment or pushing on the midback either face down or face up depending on the curve of the spine and finishing with a neck adjustment if so desired which involves the patient laying on their back and slightly rotating the head to achieve the adjustment.

The second type of adjusting we do here at Green Valley Chiropractic Center is with the table, using it to help move the hips and low back. This is commonly known as the Thompson technique using the Thompson drop pieces of the table to achieve the adjustment. This technique is used on patients who are in a lot of pain and cannot roll onto their sides due to the extent of discomfort and for those who don’t like to hear the “pop”.

The third method of adjusting we perform here at Green Valley Chiropractic Center is with the activator and the another instrument called the arthrostim, which is an activator on steroids. The arthrostim is used as a precursor for muscle relaxation and can be used for gentle manipulation of the spine and other joints when put at different angles on the vertebral bodies themselves. These methods of using instrument adjusting for acute injuries is very mild, and normally pain free. This method is performed without eliciting any audible response, so no popping is heard with this method.
